We chose the Hilton Christiana because it checked every box from the location, style, and service. The ambiance was stunning, the staff went above and beyond, and the hotel offered everything our guests and wedding party could need. Having the restaurant and amenities right onsite made it so convenient for everyone, and the overall experience exceeded all our expectations. From the start, we knew it was the right choice for our big day.
What truly stood out was the way the Hilton team made us feel supported. Katie, Todd, and Kim were incredible. They made the entire process seamless and stress-free, and on the day of our wedding, they handled every detail with such professionalism. From helping us with our marriage license to coordinating the décor, their communication and care were unmatched. We were new to Delaware, so having their local knowledge and guidance was invaluable.
Our vision was to create an elegant yet intimate wedding filled with personal touches. We’re both football fans, so instead of a garter toss, we threw a custom football, a fun detail that had everyone cheering! We incorporated our favorite colors and flowers throughout the décor, and as photography lovers, we even set up a photo booth for our guests. The candlelight, music, and florals came together perfectly to create a romantic atmosphere.
We also wanted to honor loved ones who have passed, so we dedicated a custom drink to our late parents. It meant a lot to us, and it was such a heartfelt touch that our guests really appreciated. Everyone raved about the food especially the salmon, chicken, and those amazing cinnamon sugar beignets! But one of the most memorable moments was having a ballerina walk down the aisle instead of a traditional flower girl. It brought tears to our eyes and smiles to everyone’s faces. After all the excitement, we headed to Cancun for our honeymoon, an unforgettable finale to an incredible celebration.
